Little Red Riding Hood

Priceman, Marjorie. (2001). Little Red Riding Hood: A Classic Collectible Pop Up. New York: Little Simon Publisher

I love pop up books that can be used to teach content. This is no exception. This is a pop up books originally intended for an audience of very young children, but I use books like this for middle school. A good portion of Literature in middle school is spent on learning fairy tales and differentiating between genres. The students sometimes get bored with just re-reading classic fairy tales that they already know. This is an excellent alternative to present to the students to refresh their memories of key fairy tale stories. This particular book is extremely colorful and even provides an alternative surprising ending, which really teaches students that fairy tales vary and are often changed depending upon who is telling the story.
